There is much talk about how evolving technology and the internet have pretty much changed the way many people communicate with one another these days. While the internet has definitely helped speed up the communication process and also the time to reply, it has also made communication less personal, with increasingly less face-to-face interaction.

For those who are not familiar with the term “Kiasu” its simply a Singlish word used to describe an attitude of the fear of losing out (losing out on good deals, big savings, perks, etc). “Kiasu-ism” is something that we Singaporeans are tagged with, and some of us, do actually “take pride” in it, going as far to call it a Singaporean Culture.
But, is “Kiasu-ism” or the fear of losing out really a “unique” trait of Singaporeans?
I had initially set out to blog about another topic until a thought hit me. I’m going to “pen” my 20 cents worth on my “experience” with social networking sites (like facebook) with a mild level of irritation and sarcasm.
